✨ The Power of Ashura – A Day of Reflection, Redemption & Reward ✨

The Power of Ashura – A Day of Reflection, Redemption & Reward

📆 Today is 10 Muharram – The Day of Ashura.

In the Islamic calendar, some days shine brighter than others. Among them, Ashura, the 10th of Muharram, stands as a day filled with historical weight, divine mercy, and tremendous spiritual opportunity.

🌿 What Makes Ashura So Special?
🕊️ A Day Chosen by Allah
Allah says in the Qur’an:
"Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred…"
(Surah At-Tawbah, 9:36)
Muharram is one of those sacred months, where sins are heavier, and good deeds are multiplied.

📜 Stories of Divine Salvation
🔹 Prophet Nuh (AS) – On this day, his ark came to rest on Mount Judi after the great flood. He fasted in gratitude to Allah. (Tafsir Ibn Katheer)

🔹 Prophet Musa (AS) – Allah saved Musa and Bani Israel from Pharaoh’s tyranny. Musa fasted this day in thankfulness. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“This is a great day. It is the day when Allah saved the Children of Israel from their enemy, so Musa fasted on this day.”
(Sahih Muslim, 1130)

🕌 A Legacy of the Prophets
Even before Ramadan was made obligatory, fasting on Ashura was compulsory upon Muslims.
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, 1893)

The Prophet ﷺ observed this fast and said:
“Fasting the day of Ashura, I hope Allah will expiate (forgive) the sins of the year before it.”
(Sahih Muslim, 1162)

This fast connects us to a divine legacy of gratitude, endurance, and obedience. From Prophet Nuh to Musa, and now to us, Ashura is a gift across generations.

💫 A Day of Hope & Renewal
In a time when we’re surrounded by distractions and negativity, Ashura revives hope. It tells us that:

- Redemption is real.
- Forgiveness is near.
- Gratitude is power.
- And history holds sacred lessons.

The Prophet ﷺ loved this day. He taught that fasting today expiates an entire year’s sins. If that’s not mercy and love from our Creator, what is?

🌟 “Every master was once a disaster.”
Let today be the turning point. Recommit. Reflect. Realign.

🌙 Let’s Honour This Sacred Day:
Fast (if not today, try tomorrow – the 11th of Muharram)
Reflect on the struggles of the Prophets
Make heartfelt du’a
Give charity
Share this message to revive the Sunnah
