20 years ago, the internet was an escape from the real world.
Today, the real world has become an escape from the internet.

Let that sink in.

We used to log in to take a break. Now, we log out just to breathe.

Today, babies are handed screens before they even learn to talk. We see toddlers more fluent in swipe gestures than in eye contact. At the dinner table, families gather—physically present, but each lost in their own digital bubble. It's not unusual to see five people at a table, each with their head down, not in prayer, but on their phones.

• We no longer talk. We text.
• We no longer look. We scroll.
• We no longer live. We stream.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"From the perfection of a person’s Islam is to leave that which does not concern him."
— [Hadith – Tirmidhi]

Let’s be honest—how much of what we consume online truly concerns us? How much of our time is spent in mindless scrolling, chasing validation, and comparing ourselves to curated versions of others?

The Quran reminds us:

"Indeed, the hearing, the sight, and the heart—about all those [one] will be questioned."
— [Surah Al-Isra, 17:36]

We will be accountable for how we use our time, attention, and energy. Are we investing in real relationships, or just collecting digital ones? Are we present with our loved ones, or only reacting to notifications?

📵 It’s time to reclaim reality.

• Let’s put the phones down and pick our heads up.
• Let’s teach our children that nature is not just a background for selfies, but a divine sign to reflect upon.

You don’t need to delete the internet. Just don’t let it delete your soul.
