π Where’s My Favorite Food? vs Alhamdulillah for This!
A Reminder to Always Be Grateful π
In a world driven by wants and what’s missing, it’s easy to forget what we already have. This simple yet powerful image speaks to something we all experience — the daily tug between disappointment and gratitude.
On the left: A boy frowns. His plate is full, yet he asks, “Where’s my favorite food?”
On the right: Another boy smiles. His plate holds a single banana, and he says, “Alhamdulillah for this.”
Two meals. Two mindsets. Two lives are shaped by how they choose to see.
π« Gratitude: A Gateway to Abundance
Allah ο·» tells us in the Qur’an:
“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.”
(Surah Ibrahim 14:7)
Gratitude isn’t just about saying Alhamdulillah — it’s a state of the heart. A lens through which we view life, even when it feels less than ideal.
π️ The Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί said:
“Look at those below you and do not look at those above you, for that is more likely to keep you from belittling the favors Allah has bestowed upon you.”
(Sahih Muslim, 2963)
Our beloved Prophet ο·Ί — who sometimes went days without food — taught us the beauty of contentment, not in luxury, but in trusting Allah and finding peace in His provisions.
π§ A Simple Shift in Mindset
Instead of “Why don’t I have more?” → Ask “What has Allah already given me?”
Instead of scrolling and comparing → Start counting and appreciating.
Instead of expecting your favorite food, → Say Alhamdulillah for any food.
Because what we have today is what others are still praying for. π
