What I Learned from the Teachers who attended Visual Teachers Today About the Future of Teaching in Malaysia
Alhamdulillah, today, I had the privilege of standing in front of almost 50 passionate teachers from PPD Kinta Utara, and what I witnessed reminded me again why teachers are the backbone of our nation.
The session was conducted by my partner, Dr. Ruzaimi Mat Rani, the founder of Drawzania and the pioneer of the Visualization Through Freehand (VTF) concept, and me. Together, we have built the Visual Teachers program, a movement to equip educators with modern visual and AI-powered tools that make teaching clearer, faster, and more impactful.
A special thanks goes to Dato Normah Hanum, chairman of Pertubuhan Rakan Komuniti Pendidikan Perak (PRKPP), who came by to give support to the program.
And today, something powerful happened.
π± Teachers walked in feeling unsure… and walked out with confidence.
Several teachers openly shared at the beginning:
“Saya stress sebab saya tak pandai melukis.”
“Saya tak yakin nak guna visual dalam kelas.”
“Saya takut PdPc saya tak menarik.”
This is exactly the challenge Visual Teachers was created to solve.
Because the truth is this: every teacher can draw.
They simply haven’t been shown how yet, and more importantly, why visuals matter in a classroom filled with diverse learners, especially murid sederhana dan lemah.
When Dr Ruzaimi introduced the first VTF strokes, and teachers finally realised:
“Oh… saya boleh rupa-rupanya!”
You could feel the entire room shift.
For some, that moment alone was transformational.
π¨ Why Visual Learning Matters Today
During the reflection, teachers said things like:
-
“Program ini dapat membuka minda.”
-
“Sangat bermanfaat untuk PdP yang lebih berkesan.”
-
“Membantu murid-murid yang lemah memahami topik dengan lebih cepat.”
-
“Menarik dan satu perkara baru.”
-
“Program ini banyak mencambah idea.”
Visuals simplify complexity.
Visuals lower cognitive load.
Visuals create engagement within seconds.
Visuals help murid yang malu, perlahan, atau mudah hilang fokus.
This is why we believe Visual Teachers is not just a program, it is a national necessity.
π€ Where My Part Comes In: AI + ChatGPT + PIDO
Once teachers learned to draw using VTF, I introduced something new:
How to use ChatGPT as a feedback tool to improve their visuals.
For example:
-
Teachers can draw a concept
-
Snap a photo
-
Send to ChatGPT
-
Receive instant feedback
-
Improve accuracy, clarity, and sequence
This is revolutionary for teachers who want to be more confident and consistent.
Then, we introduced the tool that changed everything:
PIDO — Parameter, Instruction, Details, Output
A simple but powerful prompting structure that allows teachers to:
✔ Get clearer explanations
✔ Generate lesson ideas
✔ Create exercises
✔ Improve diagrams
✔ Prepare teaching aids
✔ Get instant feedback on their visuals
✔ Plan classes faster
When I showed them how to apply PIDO, several teachers looked stunned.
One said:
“Program ini sangat membantu saya dalam PdP.”
Another wrote:
“Ilmu sangat mahal dan bermanfaat. Rugi yang tak join.”
That is impact.
That is transformation.
That is why we do this.
π What Today Taught Me
From the feedback forms, these lines stood out:
-
“Sangat berfaedah untuk pengajaran dalam kelas.”
-
“Sangat beri impak kepada murid jika diamalkan.”
-
“Program ini amat diperlukan.”
-
“Tahniah… saya kini lebih yakin untuk guna visual dalam Sains & RBT.”
-
“Teruskan penyebaran ilmu ini.”
And one teacher wrote something that touched me deeply:
“Pagi tadi saya stress sebab tak pandai melukis. Kini saya dah yakin. Terima kasih.”
This is why Visual Teachers must continue.
Not for us, but for every teacher who wants to teach better…
And for every student who deserves to truly understand.
π **The Future of Teaching in Malaysia?
Visual + AI + Heart.**
Today confirmed one thing:
Teachers are ready for change; they just need someone to show them the path.
They want to:
-
teach better
-
reach more students
-
simplify difficult topics
-
reduce their own stress
-
build confidence
-
innovate
-
and make learning meaningful
Visual Teachers gives them the skills,
AI (ChatGPT + PIDO) gives them the leverage,
And their dedication gives the heart.
Malaysia is in good hands because our teachers care.
To all the teachers who attended today’s training: Thank you.
Your openness…
Your willingness to learn…
Your hunger to improve…
Your dedication to your students…
It inspires us to continue this mission.
As Visual Teachers continues to expand, from Johor to Perak to Kelantan and beyond, we hope more educators will experience the same confidence, clarity, and creativity that we saw today.
Together, we can transform classrooms.
One stroke.
One idea.
One teacher at a time.
Terima kasih, PPD Kinta Utara.
You made today unforgettable.
