Why I Spent 10 Hours Teaching ChatGPT Who I Am (And Why You Should Too)
Last month, I did something that seemed crazy to most people.
I spent 10 hours teaching ChatGPT who I am.
Not what I do. Not how to write better prompts. But who I am, my values, my voice, my thinking style, my leadership principles, my daily rhythms, even my spiritual routines.
At first, my team thought I was overthinking it. "Coach, isn't that a bit much? It's just AI."
But here's what I realized:
Most people use AI like Google. I needed AI to think like me.
The Problem with "Normal" AI Use
When most people use ChatGPT, here's what happens:
- They ask a question
- AI gives a generic answer
- They edit it heavily to sound like themselves
- They repeat this process every single time
It works. But it's exhausting.
Every email, every article, every training slide, you're spending mental energy translating AI's voice into your voice. You're constantly editing, adjusting, and explaining context that the AI should already be aware of.
It's like hiring an assistant who forgets everything about you after every conversation.
The Shift: From Assistant to Clone
A few months ago, I was preparing for my ChatGPT Level 2 training. The goal was simple: teach leaders how to use AI not just for tasks, but for systems.
And I realized, if I'm going to teach this, I need to live it first.
So I started building what I now call my AI Clone.
I created files that contained:
- My Personal DNA (values, purpose, daily habits, spiritual routines)
- My Business DNA (mission, target audience, programs, goals)
- My Writing Engine (tone, structure, frameworks like PIDO and IDSAMEC)
- My Decision Engine (filters I use to say yes or no)
- My Planning Engine (how I structure my week based on energy)
- My Reset Engine (what to do when I'm overwhelmed)
I fed all of this into ChatGPT as context files in a dedicated project.
And everything changed.
What Happened Next
Now, when I ask ChatGPT to write an article, it doesn't give me generic advice.
It writes the way I write:
- Warm but structured
- Clear and practical
- With Islamic values woven naturally
- Using my frameworks (PIDO, IDSAMEC)
- In short paragraphs and simple language
- Ending with reflection and a call-to-action
When I ask it to plan my day, it doesn't just list tasks.
It plans like I plan:
- Prayer times first
- One main focus per day
- Protecting my low-energy afternoons
- Reminding me to hydrate, walk, and make zikir
- Suggesting delegation when I'm overloaded
When I'm stuck on a decision, it doesn't give me 10 options.
It applies my decision filters:
- Does this align with my mission?
- Does it benefit students, teachers, or B40 families?
- Does it simplify or complicate my life?
- Will this matter in 5 years?
The AI doesn't just assist me anymore.
It thinks with me.
Why This Matters for Leaders
If you're a leader, whether you run a school, manage a team, lead a department, or run a business, you already carry a lot in your head:
- Your vision
- Your values
- Your tone of voice
- Your decision-making principles
- Your communication style
- Your daily priorities
Every time you write an email, plan a meeting, make a decision, or create content, you're pulling from this mental library.
But here's the problem: your brain gets tired.
And when you're tired, you either:
- Make slower decisions
- Write less clearly
- Forget important context
- Or just avoid the task altogether
This is where your AI Clone comes in.
When you teach AI who you are, you're not replacing yourself. You're extending your capacity.
You're creating a system that:
- Writes in your voice (so you spend less time editing)
- Plans using your rhythm (so your days feel sustainable)
- Decides using your filters (so choices become faster)
- Resets you when you're overwhelmed (so you don't burn out)
It's like having a second brain that never forgets, never gets tired, and is always aligned with your values.
How I'm Teaching This in Level 2
In my ChatGPT Level 2 training, I'm now teaching leaders how to build their own AI Clone.
Not just prompts. Not just tips.
But a complete system that includes:
- How to document your Personal DNA
- How to structure your Business DNA
- How to create decision filters that AI can apply
- How to program your writing voice
- How to build engines for planning, writing, and resetting
Because here's what I've learned:
AI doesn't make you more productive by doing more tasks.
AI makes you more productive by becoming an extension of how you think.
A Final Reflection
In Islam, we're taught the concept of barakah, not just productivity, but blessing in our time and efforts.
When I built my AI Clone, I wasn't just chasing efficiency. I was creating space.
Space to think clearly. Space to write meaningfully. Space to make better decisions. Space to protect my energy for what truly matters: my family, my health, my ibadah, and my mission to serve teachers, students, and communities.
AI didn't replace me.
It freed me to be more of myself.
What's Next?
If you're a leader who feels like you're constantly translating, editing, and repeating yourself, whether to AI, your team, or even in your own head, maybe it's time to build your clone.
I'm finalizing my ChatGPT Level 2 program now. It's designed for leaders who've already mastered the basics and are ready to build systems, not just use tools.
If this resonates with you, stay tuned. More details coming soon, insyaAllah.
In the meantime, ask yourself:
If AI could think like you, what would you create?
