When an Entire Hall of Students Said “YES” — It Made Me Think
At the end of a recent session with UiTM Seri Iskandar students, I asked a simple question:
“Would you like more exposure to skills like this?”
Almost instantly…
The entire hall raised its hands.
And not just quietly.
“YES.”
That moment stayed with me.
Because it wasn’t just a reaction.
It was a signal.
Before the session
Many students came in like most do:
Unsure about direction
Passive in learning
Used to theory-based delivery
After the session
Something changed.
They became more engaged
They started asking better questions
They could see how to apply what they learned
And most importantly…
They realised there is another way to learn.
The proof is clear
Based on the feedback:
99% understood the content clearly
99% learned something new
98% said they can apply it immediately
100% said it is relevant to their needs
99% said it was better than other trainings
This is not just a “good session.”
This is what happens when learning becomes practical, real, and relevant.
So what’s the real issue?
It’s not that students are not capable.
It’s not that universities are not trying.
But…
Exposure is still limited.
When students are only exposed to one style of learning,
Their thinking also becomes limited.
Why external training matters
External trainers bring:
Real-world perspective
Current industry thinking
Practical tools students can use immediately
Sometimes, all it takes is one different perspective
to change how a student sees their future.
The bigger picture
We are not just teaching content.
We are shaping:
Mindset
Confidence
Direction
And these cannot be developed through theory alone.
A simple reflection
If one session can create this level of response…
Imagine what consistent exposure can do.
Final thought
Our students don’t lack potential.
What they need is:
Clarity. Exposure. Direction.
And sometimes…
All it takes is one session
to open their eyes to what’s possible.
