🌍 Travelling: A Journey to See the Greatness of Allah SWT ✈️

🌍 Travelling: A Journey to See the Greatness of Allah SWT ✈️

There is something magical about travelling. Every journey feels like opening a brand-new chapter in the book of life. The scenery, the people, the culture, and even the challenges all teach us lessons we could never learn if we stayed in the same place.

For me, travelling is not just about ticking destinations off a list. It is about discovering the greatness of Allah SWT reflected in every corner of the earth. It is about broadening our horizons, deepening our gratitude, and strengthening our faith.

πŸŒ… Witnessing the Signs of Allah in Creation

When I stand before the vastness of the sea or the majesty of the mountains, I cannot help but feel small, yet at the same time, deeply connected to something greater. Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:

“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding.” (Surah Ali Imran, 3:190)

Every sunrise, every ripple of water, and every mountain peak becomes a reminder of His perfection. Travelling allows us to pause, reflect, and truly see these signs with our own eyes.

πŸ’‘ Gaining New Perspectives

One of the greatest gifts of travelling is perspective. When you are in a different land, you see how people live, how they solve problems, and how they create joy in their own unique ways.

This sparks new ideas. It teaches us that there is no one “right” way to do things and that creativity often comes from observing and learning from others. The Prophet ο·Ί himself encouraged seeking knowledge, even if it meant travelling far:

“Seek knowledge, even if it is in China.” (Hadith, although some scholars consider its chain weak, the meaning is widely accepted)

Knowledge is not limited to books. Sometimes it comes from observing how people live, work, and build their communities.

❤️ Building Empathy and Understanding

Travelling also humbles us. It makes us more empathetic. When we interact with people from different cultures, languages, and backgrounds, we realize that at the core, we are all human with hopes, dreams, and struggles.

The Qur’an beautifully explains the wisdom behind diversity:

“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.” (Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:13)

When we travel, we “know one another” in a deeper way. We appreciate differences while recognizing the universal values that unite us.

🧭 Discovering Ourselves (and Each Other)

Every trip is also a journey inward. When you travel with family or friends, you discover more about them: their patience, resilience, sense of humor, and even their quirks. At the same time, you discover your own strengths and weaknesses.

I’ve learned that travelling teaches more than geography; it teaches character. A long walk on an unfamiliar road, a delayed flight, or getting lost in a new city can test patience, build problem-solving skills, and deepen bonds between companions.

The Prophet ο·Ί once said:

“Travel with others, for indeed the lone traveler is a devil, two are two devils, but three are a company of riders.” (Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi)

Travelling together is not just safer, but also spiritually and emotionally enriching.

πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ύ Coming Home with Gratitude

At the end of every journey, I always feel grateful to come home to Malaysia. Grateful for the safety, comfort, and opportunities we often take for granted. Travelling makes me proud to be Malaysian, a country blessed with peace, diversity, and beauty.

Sometimes, you need to step outside your home to truly appreciate it.

🌟 My Personal Hope

I hope to make travelling a yearly tradition to continue discovering new adventures, new cultures, and new lessons. More than that, I hope to carry back the wisdom, creativity, and gratitude that each trip gives me.

πŸ’¬ Final Reflection

Travelling is more than just leisure. It is ibadah (worship) if we approach it with the right intention. It is a chance to:

  • Witness the signs of Allah SWT.

  • Gain knowledge and wisdom.

  • Develop empathy and understanding.

  • Discover ourselves and our companions.

  • Return home with gratitude.

So, if you ever get the chance to travel, near or far, take it. Not just for the photos, but for the lessons. Let the world be your classroom, and let every journey bring you closer to Allah SWT.

πŸ“Έ These are just some moments from my latest trip: the seaside at dawn, the mountains under the clouds, and the airport where countless journeys begin. Each picture is a reminder of the beauty, the adventure, and the gratitude that travelling brings.

πŸ‘‰ What about you? Where would you like to travel next, and what do you hope to learn from it?
