1. Apples
Apples are a good source of dietary fiber. Dietary fiber not only contributes to a healthy digestive system and reduced cholesterol, but it also benefits smart eaters by yielding no calories while keeping them satisfied.
And there's something else about the fruit that might help you feel full. A study in the journal "Appetite" found that when women added either three apples or three pears to their daily meals, they lost more weight than people who added three oat cookies to their diets -- even though the fruit and the cookies contained the exact same amount of dietary fiber.
Although the reason behind this finding may be a mystery, there is something to be said for the findings. According to Alan Aragon, a nutritionist and author of "Girth Control: The Science of Fat Loss & Muscle Gain," crunchy foods in particular can trick a person into feeling fuller. The act of chewing may send satiety signals to your body, he says, making you think you've eaten more than you really have and keeping hunger at bay.
2. Almonds
If you're looking for a tasty midday snack, a handful of almonds are a well-regarded option. A study in 2009 in "The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition" found that women who ate nuts at least two times a week were more successful at keeping weight off than those who didn't eat this food.
One particular favorite among some nutritionists is almonds, says Aragon. One ounce of this food contains only 167 calories, plus it packs roughly 6 g of protein and 3 g of fiber, both nutrients that can make you feel full. Furthermore, like apples, almonds are crunchy and require a lot of chewing, so they, too, can make you feel like you've eaten more than you actually did and keep you fuller longer.
3. Salmon
If you're uncertain about fish, there's no need to fear. Seafood can be part of a healthy diet. And there's some evidence that the fat in foods such as salmon can boost satiety levels, says Aragon. For example, a study published in the "International Journal of Obesity" found that when dieters ate salmon a few times a week, they lost about two more pounds than those who didn't include seafood in their meals.
And in spite of the mention of salmon's fat content, the food is relatively low in calories. One 3-oz. serving has just 175 calories. Salmon is a good source of protein as well.
4. Eggs
There's no doubt that protein, like fiber, has impressive satiating powers. And while eggs seem to have a bad reputation in some circles, there can be no contesting their ability to help keep your weight in check.
Research has shown that eating eggs at breakfast can help you fight weight gain all day long. A study reported in 2008 in the "International Journal of Obesity" found that when dieters ate two eggs for breakfast for five days out of the week, they lost 65 percent more weight than dieters who consumed a bagel in the morning. Although protein is likely to fill you up whenever you eat it, some scientists suspect that having more in the morning can keep you feeling fuller all day long.
5. Tomatoes
It's true that most veggies make for great diet fare. Non-starchy vegetables in particular, such as carrots, celery and spinach, are filled with fiber. Like other foods high in fiber, they can help keep you feeling satiated.
Plus, they're pretty self-regulating, says Aragon. You can't really overeat with nonstarchy vegetables. After all, how many baby carrots can a person eat without needing to dunk them in some ranch dressing?
So while there are many veggies that can help you stay slim, tomatoes might be a particularly good option because they're so tasty. And, besides, with that whole a-tomato-is-a-vegetable-no-it's-a-fruit argument, you might have forgotten all about eating them. One cup of cooked, red tomatoes contains just 43 calories, but tastes just as delicious as any number of high-calorie foods.
And that's at least half the secret, finding foods that are both healthy and tasty. The good thing is, they do exist. Over time, you'll discover what wholesome, filling foods you prefer, expanding your choices while shrinking your waistline.

10 Businesses You Can Start for $500 or Less
Read this article by John Riddle this morning and I find it to be very true not just in the US but also applicable here in Malaysia. Check it out, there are really a lot of ways that you can make money here in our great country. I have spoken to a lot of foreigners and they say Malaysia is the best! I've also put in some of my own thoughts into it. Enjoy!
By the way we are also looking for a team for our very own business. If you are interested YOU might want to check out our Real Wealth website at http://PeakLifeStyle.com/real
10 Businesses You Can Start for $500 or Less
Summary:
Do you want to start a business but don't have much money to spend? It can be done. Starting a service business is often the answer. Here are ten business ideas that can be launched for $500 or less in startup funds.
You've probably read about people starting their own businesses with very little money and making a fortune. And it can be done -- particularly if you're starting a service business. But a word to the wise: for every success story there are dozens of failures that go unreported. The key to improving your chances for startup success is to be smart. Be honest with yourself about your willingness to work hard and research the business you plan to start before you jump into the new business pool.
The list of business startup ideas below represents just a few of the many different types of service businesses you can start with limited funds. If none of these suit you, think of what other type of service you could provide and start using similar tactics.
- Pet Care – pets are a billion dollar industry in the United States, and there is a growing demand for new Pet Care businesses. You can start small, then grow and expand your services as you attract new clients. Some of the pet care services you can offer include: feeding and walking, grooming, or visiting a client’s home and caring for their pet while they are on vacation. - here in Malaysia the demand for this kind of service has increased! You can see from the number of pet shops and vets popping up everywhere. You can start a simple service in your neighborhood. It works!
- House Cleaning – it seems like everyone is too busy to clean their own homes these days. The demand for good house cleaners seems to grow each year. In this business, word of mouth will be your best advertising. So find your first client (friend, business associate, someone from church, etc.) and start small. - this is another fantastic idea. Recently we have been receiving a lot of simple leaflets offering services such as house cleaning & part time maids. One day I saw my next door neighbor and we thought that they just got a new maid but it turns out she was just a day time maid. Meaning she would come during the day and do the daily chores. You don't have to provide them with a place to sleep and you just pay as they come. How convenient!
- Auto Detailing – this is another business that people are looking for in their hometowns. Professional auto detailers can charge as much as $150 to $250, depending upon what services they provide. - there's a lot of demand for this as you can see the number of cars here in Malaysia. On top of that there are just so many people out there who would spend money on their cars. For this however you need to know what you are doing.
- Freelance Writer – if you have every dreamed about seeing your name in print (and getting paid at the same time), freelance writing might be in your future. Writers Digest magazine is an excellent resource; you’ll find lots of great articles on how to break into the writing industry. - there is a great demand for this especially copy writing a good sales pitch. You can offer your services to anybody who wants to do marketing, It is a skill and an art that can be developed.
- Property Management – many property management companies first started out as house sitting businesses, then evolved as the need arose. Note: property management is a demanding business, and you need very good “people skills” in order to be successful.
- House painter – if you like to paint, this business can be a real goldmine for you. Whether you want to specialize in indoor or outdoor house painting, it is another business where “word of mouth” will help you grow. - Man, this is another great business opportunity. If you love to paint you can make some real money. We had a painter who was charging us only RM80 a day. He painted our house and he made RM800 for 10 days. He told me that on average he works 20 to 25 days a month and he would make about RM1600 to RM2000 a month. Not bad for a painter!
- Handyman – with most families holding down two jobs these days, there is little time for even those small repairs around the house. If you have the skills and a few tools, working as a handyman will provide you with a business that will keep growing. - There is a huge demand for this kind of job. People are just too busy and they just don't have the time. You can even make your service unique by offering your service at odd hours!
- Landscaping – although this is a seasonal job, for many people it can be a year-round venture. If you like cutting and trimming lawns and bushes, raking leaves and working outdoors, starting a landscaping business is something you should consider.
- Website Designer – if you like working on the computer and have no problem designing Websites, then get busy NOW and launch this venture. There seems to be an endless supply of clients who need new Websites. - with all the available online apps now this is a great opportunity. but you need to be passionate about it!
- Party and Event Planner – are you good at organizing parties and events? If so, this business might be worth pursuing. The party business has grown into a billion dollar industry, and people everywhere are looking for help to create “the perfect party and event! - almost everyday in Malaysia there is an event. It could be weddings, aqeqah, a simple kenduri, birthdays, family days and etc. Almost all of these events need planning and coordination. You can be the solution provider!
Before You LeapWhether you plan to choose one of these 10 business ideas or a business idea of your own, take this little quiz before you proceed. Your answers will let you know if you have what it takes to launch and succeed in a new business:- Do you believe that your business will succeed?
- Are you prepared to do whatever is necessary to make your business a success?
- Are you willing to work for little or no salary during your start-up phase?
- Do you know who your competition will be?
- Do you have a sales and marketing plan in place?
Unless you answered “yes” to all of the above questions, you might not be ready to hang out your shingle just yet. Take some time, do some research and then when you are confident you are ready to launch, then go for it!PS - By the way we are looking for a team for our very own business. Learning Online Using Focus A Online Education System
The internet has really opened up a lot of possibilities. With more and more applications popping up here and there. Almost everything can be done online these days.
Today watching my kids do their revision using our Focus A Online Education System really excites me. The fact that they can study online, do practice, learn from a tutor is just fantastic! You are no longer bounded by books and classroom. In fact it is so convenient and definitely green as it is paperless!
I just can't imagine what it will be like in the next few years. Most likely we would even have 3D teachers appearing before you via internet TV and such. The things that we saw in the movies are actually taking shape. Education has just gotten to a whole new level.

You guys are the best!!!
Anyways semasa sesi tersebut saya dapati kebanyakkan masalah pelajar ini adalah tiada support dari rumah. Sekadar ke sekolah sahaja tidak mencukupi lagi hari ini. Keadaan semakin mencabar dan saingan memang sengit tetapi pelajar-pelajar ini sudah tidak kisah. Antara perkara yang kita boleh buat untuk anak-anak kita adalah;
Anak2x akan seronok sebab very interactive.
Sekiranya anak2x ada masalah di sekolah kita kena tanya diri kita apa sumbangan kita. Anak2x adalah amanah. Biarlah kita bersusah sedikit sekarang dari susah kemudian. Remember Knowledge is POWER!

NEVER Use Your Mobile Phone At The Fuel Pump!
Please send this information to ALL your family & friends, especially those who have kids in the car with them while pumping gas. If this were to happen, they may not be able to get the children out in time.
MUST READ, EVEN IF YOU DON'T OWN A CAR.
Shell Oil Comments - A MUST READ!Safety Alert! Here's some reasons why we don't allow cell phones in operating areas, propylene oxide handling and storage area, propane, gas and diesel refuelling areas.
The Shell Oil Company recently issued a warning after three incidents in which mobile phones (cell phones) ignited fumes during fuelling operations
In the first case, the phone was placed on the car's trunk lid during fuelling; it rang and the ensuing fire destroyed the car and the gasoline pump.
In the second, an individual suffered severe burns to their face when fumes ignited as they answered a call while refuelling their car!
And in the third, an individual suffered burns to the thigh and groin as fumes ignited when the phone, which was in their pocket, rang while they were fuelling their car.
You should know that: Mobile Phones can ignite fuel or fumes
Mobile phones that light up when switched on or when they ring release enough energy to provide a spark for ignition
Mobile phones should not be used in filling stations, or when fuelling lawn mowers, boat, etc.
Mobile phones should not be used, or should be turned off, around other materials that generate flammable or explosive fumes or dust, (I.e., solvents, chemicals, gases, grain dust, etc...)
TO sum it up, here are the Four Rules for Safe Refuelling:
1) Turn off engine
2) Don't smoke
3) Don't use your cell phone - leave it inside the vehicle or turn it 0ff
4) Don't re-enter your vehicle during fuelling.
Bob Renkes of Petroleum Equipment Institute is working on a campaign to try and make people aware of fires as a result of 'static electricity' at gas pumps. His company has researched 150 cases of these fires.
His results were very surprising:
1) Out of 150 cases, almost all of them were women.
2) Almost all cases involved the person getting back in their vehicle while the nozzle was still pumping gas. When finished, they went back to pull the nozzle out and the fire started, as a result of static.
3) Most had on rubber-soled shoes.
4) Most men never get back in their vehicle until completely finished. This is why they are seldom involved in these types of fires.
5) Don't ever use cell phones when pumping gas
6) It is the vapours that come out of the gas that cause the fire, when connected with static charges.
7) There were 29 fires where the vehicle was re-entered and the nozzle was touched during refuelling from a variety of makes and models. Some resulted in extensive damage to the vehicle, to the station, and to the customer.
8) Seventeen fires occurred before, during or immediately after the gas cap was removed and before fuelling began..
Mr. Renkes stresses to NEVER get back into your vehicle while filling it with gas.
If you absolutely HAVE to get in your vehicle while the gas is pumping, make sure you get out, close the door TOUCHING THE METAL, before you ever pull the nozzle out. This way the static from your body will be discharged before you ever remove the nozzle.
As I mentioned earlier, The Petroleum Equipment Institute, along with several other companies now, are really trying to make the public aware of this danger.
I ask you to please send this information to ALL your family and friends, especially those who have kids in the car with them while pumping gas. If this were to happen to them, they may not be able to get the children out in time. Thanks for passing this along.

Babies In Movie Theaters
Yesterday, I took the family to the movies. We watched THOR which I thought was quite a good movie. I have been a comic fan for the past 20 years and I was quite concerned how they were going to do it with Thor. I had my doubts but I think they did a great job! Can't wait to see Captain America followed by the Avengers next year.
Anyways, bringing the whole family is a bit of a challenge because we have our 3rd child who is still a baby. Our darling little boy, Danish who is now just 16 months. Every time we tell people we are bringing him to the movies, people are surprised. Actually we started taking him to the movies when he was just 6 months!
For those of you who have babies, you can still enjoy a great movie with your babies. Here are a few things that we do that I can share. It might help or it might not. :)
Here are 3 Tips on How to bring Babies In Movie Theaters.
1. You have to decide that you are bringing your baby with you. This is so that you have the proper mind set. Make sure everybody in the family who is going to see the movie is aware of this as well especially your partner..
2. When you purchase the tickets make sure you buy the aisle sit. That way you can exit anytime when you need to without disrupting other people. Make sure you put the stroller in front of the front row seats so that you can collect it at the end of the movie.
3. Try to tire your baby before the movies. Play and feed him/her. It would be easier if you could get your baby to sleep as soon as the movie starts. It works for us! If the baby cries, try to feed him/her but if you can't stop the crying leave your seat and try to soothe him/her outside. Once she is calmed down or back to sleep just reenter the theater. I remember one time my son Aiman was so scared I had to carry him throughout the movie and I had to watch the movie standing. This was when he was already a toddler. But he is braver now.
The worst thing that could happen is that you loose out on a few dollars if you can't be in the theater anymore. But the experience and the stories you can share with your family will last a life time.
